Crazy Dogs

We've had Brodie a week today, Also translated as: It's been a week since I've slept through the night with out getting up to take the puppy pee 3 times a night.

Actually last night he slept through the night, he woke up at 6:50 to pee and then decided he was going to be up for the day. Having a puppy is the best birth control ever! =)

Brodie is hysterical, he starts out at night curled in a ball cuddling with me, and then in the middle of the night sometime he rolls onto his back and sleeps with all four feet sticking up into the air. I wake up in the night and giggle looking at him.

Yesterday his vocal chords must have suddenly developed. He's been incredibly quiet the whole time we've had him and yesterday he hit puberty =) he growls and barks while playing with Keifer. Since he is not yet neutered his voice is much deeper than Kiefers.

Also, hes going to be a big boy! I took him to the vet on Wenesday. At 10.5 weeks (I was off in my count last week, hes now 11weeks old) he weighs 6.3lbs. A full grown mini doxie should weigh no more than 10lbs. Kiefer is a big mini at 11-12 lbs. We are expecting Brodie to be over 15. There must have been a standard Dachshund not too far up in his family lines...
Turns out that I don't need to mow my lawn anymore, the dogs think that eating grass is the cool thing to do. Brodie grazes constantly when he's outside...
