Modesty?

Brodie doesn't know the meaning. This is how he sleeps.

Hey Look!

--------------------------------------------------------------->
I can actually tell that the ticker is going down now!
Its almost time to party. But first I have to find a way to spend the weekend in a wedding at the coast (Leaving tomorrow morning) and then have a 15 page rough draft of a paper by Monday morning...hmmm....

Grass.

Turns out we all like grass.
Brodie slept all night and woke up to go to the bathroom at 7:45. Works for me! So we got up and when I saw the way the sunlight was hitting the grass I decided to stay up. I laid on my side on the patio and shot pictures of the dew drops. Brodie laid on his tummy and scooted along after me, making sure to eat the piece of grass I was taking a picture of right as the shutter snapped. Awesome.
Heres a few blades that didn't get eaten.

New Puppies and New Carpet...

...Do not mix.
So, uh, anyone want a puppy?
=)

Crazy Dogs

(p.s. Look at how fat Brodie's little belly is!)

We've had Brodie a week today, Also translated as: It's been a week since I've slept through the night with out getting up to take the puppy pee 3 times a night.

Actually last night he slept through the night, he woke up at 6:50 to pee and then decided he was going to be up for the day. Having a puppy is the best birth control ever! =)

Brodie is hysterical, he starts out at night curled in a ball cuddling with me, and then in the middle of the night sometime he rolls onto his back and sleeps with all four feet sticking up into the air. I wake up in the night and giggle looking at him.

Yesterday his vocal chords must have suddenly developed. He's been incredibly quiet the whole time we've had him and yesterday he hit puberty =) he growls and barks while playing with Keifer. Since he is not yet neutered his voice is much deeper than Kiefers.

Also, hes going to be a big boy! I took him to the vet on Wenesday. At 10.5 weeks (I was off in my count last week, hes now 11weeks old) he weighs 6.3lbs. A full grown mini doxie should weigh no more than 10lbs. Kiefer is a big mini at 11-12 lbs. We are expecting Brodie to be over 15. There must have been a standard Dachshund not too far up in his family lines...
Turns out that I don't need to mow my lawn anymore, the dogs think that eating grass is the cool thing to do. Brodie grazes constantly when he's outside...

Brodie, 11 weeks (almost)

mmm Kiefer, you smell so nice!

They could spend hours eating each other. also sniffing each others private parts and humping. (Yay boys!)

Brodie McGregor Tacoma The Phantom Jones

Meet Brodie.

It's 1am. I just got home from a very impulsive trip to Tacoma, WA to pick up Brodie. Andrew was at work and we decided I should get him. After convincing his previous owner to let me show up at 9pm, I took off after work. Andrew couldn't come so I drove the 3.5 hrs up there alone and drove back with a puppy sleeping on my lap.

So here he is:Better pictures tomorrow, I am absolutely exhausted right now.
Kiefer and Brodie both got baths and now they are playing like crazy. I hope they go to sleep tonight
I am going to try...

Old Men and Their Toys

Today as I was pulling out of the driveway I saw this old man pulling out of the Home Depot parking lot driving a brand new ride-on mower. I was thinking about how freaking awesome that was, as he pulled out onto Spicer and starter putsing along looking completely giddy. Then his old lady wife (in an old lady car of course) pulled out behind him with her flashers on looking exasperated. I watched in my rear-view as they drove down the road (presumably on their way home)
I was thinking how when we get old, Andrew is going to be the exasperated old lady in the car...

I wrote a paper today. It was incredibly painful. Seriously, it was only six pages, but it took me allll freakin' day. I think it means I'm really ready to be done. Kiefer didn't mind that it took me all day. He slept in my lap from 9am-6pm. He had a busy weekend, His sheepdog puppy friend Drex came over Friday- today. Drex has a lot of energy and is about 5 times Kiefers size. Turns out Kiefer is happy to share many things food, water, bones, dog bed etc...but Kiefer does NOT share his (human) bed or his tennis balls. FYI

Accomplishment!

Tonight after work I was able to mow the entire lawn and all the clippings fit in the yard waste bin! I am shocked and impressed and a teeny tiny bit proud of myself. Its the first time since we moved in that the entire lawn is all the same height!
Then I sprayed roundup on all the weeds in the front and then re-potted my tomatoes that were outgrowing their starter pots. Then it got dark.
